Our Story

De Natura was founded during a challenging period, when both work and life felt stretched to the limit. What once looked like success began to reveal its cost — endless motion, noise, and the loss of perspective.

Time outdoors became a way to reset. Regular visits to Bartram’s Garden offered space to think clearly again — to read, observe, and find calm in small details. Those quiet hours slowly reshaped the way we saw work, family, and purpose.

From that experience came a simple idea: clarity grows in stillness. If time in Nature could restore balance for one person, it could do the same for others.

De Natura was built to make that possible — creating programs and places where people can slow down, reconnect with the natural world, and learn to see it as a teacher.

Our Purpose

At its heart, De Natura is about learning from Nature—not as something separate from us, but as something we’re part of. We believe observation and reflection are skills that can be taught, and that slowing down enough to truly notice the world around you can change how you think, how you decide, and how you live.

We want to make that experience accessible to everyone, especially kids and families who may not have easy access to quiet, safe, natural places. The goal isn’t just to spend time outside—it’s to build the habit of attention, to see and feel what’s real.

Our Work

We focus on small, meaningful experiences that bring people closer to Nature and themselves:

  • Youth & Education Programs — Hands-on learning and observation-based experiences rooted in curiosity, creativity, and connection.

  • Community Partnerships — Working with local schools, parks, and organizations to open spaces like Bartram’s Garden to more people.

  • Mentorship & Reflection — Building long-term relationships that guide young people toward awareness, resilience, and original thought.

  • Adult & Family Retreats — Programs designed to reconnect adults and families to Nature, stillness, and perspective.

Our approach is simple: show up, listen, observe, and let the experience do the work.

Our Name

The name De Natura comes from Latin—“of Nature” or “from Nature.” It’s a reminder that everything begins here. The wisdom, the patience, the creativity, the cycles we depend on—all of it starts in Nature. Our goal is simply to return to it, listen, and learn.
