100 Beds Initiative
Don’t let sleep be a barrier to education.
IFS Partnership and Truancy Prevention
The 100 Beds Initiative is a partnership between De Natura Foundation and Intercultural Family Services (IFS) to help children in Philadelphia who do not have a bed of their own.
IFS supports families in West Philadelphia through counseling, truancy prevention, and community-based programs. Their licensed staff work directly with households to identify needs and stabilize daily life for children.
When sleep breaks down, mornings break down—then attendance breaks down. This initiative removes one of the most practical barriers to stability so families can rebuild routine and school consistency.
Why a bed matters
A child without a bed rarely gets a full night of sleep. Without real rest, mornings fall apart, attendance drops, routines break down, and school becomes an uphill climb.
Why truancy is part of this..
Intercultural Family Services (IFS) supports families in West Philadelphia through counseling, truancy prevention, and community-based programs. Their licensed staff work directly with households to identify needs and stabilize daily life for children.
When basic sleep stability is missing, attendance is often one of the first things to break. The 100 Beds Initiative is designed to remove one of the most practical barriers—so families can reestablish morning routine and consistency.
